Yearly review yields "incentive raises" which are a joke, it's usually only a few cents. Also tends to have a high turnover in both hourly and salaried employees, so your terrible team lead or the coworker you don't get along with might not always be there. Bad managers = toxic work environment and you will be miserable, good managers who care about you as a person make all the difference, but it's really a crapshoot as to what you'll get. Corporate will always try to get more work out of you than you can possibly do.
This is a job where the people you work with really make a difference. The corporate machine is always turning and you're just a cog in the works. I am not saying don't work at Target because I have had some really good times there and met some of my best friends through working there, but these are just some of the problems I kept running into while working there. Sometimes you will get really nice leads, but they will have no idea how to keep a store organized or you will get someone with the worst possible attitude and speaks to you like you are trash but they will know how to keep a store organized and flow well. Thats going to decide wether you like target or not. I have worked at 2 different stores in different states and this is how they both do things.ĭon't get me wrong I do enjoy working in presentation, I like resetting things but realistically it will all depend on why type of people the leads are.
So then they are expecting you to get it all done in such a short amount of time.
The thing is all of these are doable if given enough time/hours to do them but gstl apparently have never set anything in there life time so they don't grasp how time consuming all that stuff takes. I was hired for Presentation and they require you to do detail work like deep cleaning, updating counts, filling out paperwork for each pog, and various other things for every set you did. They think a DBO can sort truck, zone, push truck, set sales planners, revisions, and pogs, as well as doing there own price changes and signage is more "efficient" then having specialize teams for each of those things, which they used to have then got rid of them. Target seems to think you are a super human.
